Safety

Safety is a priority. A high-strength body structure and a large chassis offer excellent protection.
Comfort and traction is optimized with the use of an independent double wishbone suspension on the front and half-oval steel leaf springs on the rear, plus gas shock absorbers.

Double SRS airbags and safety belts with pretensioners along with a strong body frame and a highly resistant chassis protect the cabin from side impacts. The collapsible steering wheel reduces the force of impact to the chest in the event of a frontal collision. The highly durable body frame is capable of withstanding harsh bending forces. With extra support beams inside the door panels the impact force from a side collision is optimally absorbed. The chassis is designed with special cross members to ensure optimum resistance against bending.

Further Safety Features:

  • ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) prevents the wheels from being locked in emergency braking.
  • EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) ensures optimal distribution of braking force.
  • TCS (Traction Control System) saves the wheels from spinning freely.
  • ESC (Electronic Stability Control) improves stability as the vehicle cruises forward
  • PBA (Panic Brake Assist) effectively handles challenging sudden braking.
  • CBC (Cornering Brake Control) increases stability when brake is applied while cornering.
  • HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist) increases brake fluid pressure when needed.
  • HBFA (Hydraulic Brake Fade Assist) works to ensure the ideal brake fluid pressure.
  • HDC (Hill Descent Control) down a steep slope it automatically limits the speed of the vehicle to the most appropriate level for a safer descent. Only on automatic transmission models.
  • HSA (Hill Start Assist) prevents the car from rolling when trying to pull away on an up or down gradient.
Towing

A stiff frame and flexible suspension enhance the Trailblazer’s towing ability, allowing it to adapt to your driving needs. With quick response steering, wheels and tyres that optimise handling and the best in braking control technology, not only is it a smooth, enjoyable journey, but a safe one.
