The All-New D-Max Bakkie now at William Hunt - It doesn’t get more South African than this.

The highly anticipated, desirable all-new Isuzu D-Max bakkie is here!

The manufacturer is taking its popular light commercial vehicle (LCV) to higher levels of refinement, quality, technology and efficiency than ever before and best of all: it’s manufactured right here in South Africa!

It’s the result of a R1.2 billion investment in Isuzu’s local operations, announced in 2019, which has now lead to the creation of at least a 1 000 new jobs locally in Gqeberha and approximately 25 000 jobs throughout the supply chain in South Africa. The investment also resulted in the strategic improvements and upgrades of the manufacturing plant in Struandale, together with the technology and skills development required to produce this seventh generation Isuzu D-Max bakkie.

The range consists of 24 derivatives consisting of Single Cab, Extended Cab and Double Cab models available with two engine options, manual and automatic transmissions and in 4x2 or 4x4 guise.

South Africans have the widest range of choice with 22 models to choose from (including 11 double cab models) while the rest of the continent gets to choose from 13 models in total.

The D-Max has a an enhanced sense of quality and attention to detail as well as an enhanced sense of comfort and convenience. Ensuring that there is a D-Max model for everyone, there are five specification levels, ranging from entry-level Standard to upmarket V-Cross at the top of the range with leather seats, 8 airbags and automatic high-beam activation for the headlamps. The V-Cross is differentiated from the rest by gun-metallic finishes for the grille, fender flares, door handles, side-mirror caps, roof rails and hooped sports bar.

“Isuzu’s LCV offerings have always been key players in the local market, delivering exceptional reliability and durability for our customers, whether used in hard-working commercial applications, or spearheading the popular double cab segment. We are confident that the new Isuzu D-Max will continue in this proud legacy and raise the bar even higher for the brand,”says Dominic Rimmer, Senior Vice-President, Technical Operations at Isuzu Motors SA.

“We have taken our proven and trusted characteristics such as power, strength and reliability and added distinctive sporty styling, significantly improved comfort, an extensive range of new technologies and trend-setting safety features to make the new Isuzu D-Max line-up well positioned to compete the in the leisure segment of the market,”Rimmer says.
