Festive cheer is all around and at REEDS we are in particularly high spirits this year. Why, you ask? Well, we’ve got seven excellent reasons to be excited, because this is how many new and refreshed Opel models will be making their way onto our showroom floors in 2019. The coming year is a big milestone for the German automaker – it’s the 120th anniversary of the brand’s establishment and the Opel team are celebrating in style by showing off new tech, sleek design and future-proof innovation at every turn.
South African motorists can look forward to the following models, which will be rolled out on SA soil throughout the course of 2019:
The epitome of clean and dynamic design, this three-door beauty takes to the road witha 1.4T/110 kW engine, an OPC chassis and brake system, and an alluring GSi interior for that sporty feel.
The Corsa Enjoy has received a complete overhaul as a part of the birthday celebrations and now features a wide array of fresh new comfort and safety features, as well as a few new style touches that takes it to the next level.
This beauty walked away with the European COTY 2016 and was also named SA COTY in 2017. It is now being made available in 1.6T Sport model with two distinct trim options.
If you've been waiting for the Crossland X range to include a diesel option, 2019 will your lucky year. Opel is adding a 68W 1.6 turbo-diesel variant with 5-speed manual steering.
Everyone’s favourite Opel SUV is back and it has quite a few tricks up its sleeve. This includes striking new 18" alloys, roof rails and strategic privacy panels, as well as the option of customising your ride with a sunroof, leather seats and a sleek new infotainment system.
Please welcome the 2019 Van of the Year! Fleet owners around the world are in awe of he Opel Combo, which has been designed with the express purpose of getting the job done safely, comfortably and cost-effectively. Pre-orders start in January, so get ready to trim those overheads substantially in 2019.
The local light commercial line-up will also be expanded to include the evergreen Opel Vivaro, which has been refreshed to keep up with local and international demand.
FUN FACT! Opel is one of the car brands that has been established in SA for the longest – more than 80 years to be exact. Over the year, the German automaker has been awarded the coveted title of SA Car of the Year four times – twice for the Astra (2017, 1995), once for the Kadett (1994), and once for the Monza (1991).
