Opel to launch 7 new models in SA in 2019

The festive season is here, and with 2019 around the corner the Williams Hunt team has more than one reason to celebrate – in fact we have seven! The year ahead marks Opel’s 120th birthday, and the German automaker is upping the ante by rolling out no less than seven new and refreshed models on SA soil, much to the delight of local automotive connoisseurs.

The new Opel models what will be released in South Africa and distributed by Williams Hunt throughout 2019 and beyond include:

1. 3-Door Opel Corsa GSi

This much-anticipated model will feature clean and dynamic design, an agile 1.4T/110 kW engine, an OPC chassis and brake system, as well as a sporty interior for that inimitable GSi feel.

2. Corsa 120Y Special Edition

This special edition of the Corsa Enjoy has been created to celebrate Opel's 120-year birthday and will come packed to the hilt with all sorts of exciting stylistic, comfort and safety features that sky-rockets it into a brand-new bracket.

3. Automatic 1.6T Opel Astra Sport

The SA COTY 2017 and European COTY 2016 will now be made available in a 1.6T Sport model that comes with two eye-popping trim options.

4. Opel Crossland X Enjoy 1.6 Diesel

SUV lovers, assemble! The ever-popular Crossland X will now be available in a powerful (yet fuel-conscious) 1.6 turbo-diesel iteration that boasts a 5-speed manual steering and a whopping 68 W of output.

5. Updated Opel Grandland X Enjoy 1.6T Automatic

This best-in-class SUV is back and it's got a bunch of exciting new updates, including 18" alloys, strategic privacy glass, roof rails & more that comes standard. There will also be the option of customising the SUV with additions such as a panoramic sunroof, leather seats, and an intuitive infotainment system.

6. The Opel Combo 1.6TD Panel Van

Welcome to South Africa 2019 Van of the Year! The Opel Combo 1.6TD Panel Van has been tailored with the needs of fleet owners in mind and comes with all the bells and whistles that frequent drivers require to stay safe and comfortable on the road. The Opel Combo will be on pre-order from January onwards.

7. Opel Vivaro

Towards the fourth quarter of 2019, the Opel Vivaro will also be added to the local commercial line-up.

DID YOU KNOW? Opel is one of the longest-established car brands in South Africa. It’s been around for more than 80 years! An Opel vehicle has been appointed SA COTY (Car of The Year) on four separate occasions – the Astra in 2017 and 1995; the Kadett in 1994; and the Monza in 1991.
